I’ve made a mural in the Flow’s gym early this year. People stretch, do yoga classes, lift weights and also party there from time to time. The brief sounded like the project was supposed to fit it all. Obviously, I needed to make the composition from twisted and tangled silhouettes and different kinds of climbing holds. I used color pallete based on Flow’s logotype and in refering to climbing acvtivity, which perfectly matched with my early inspirations by modernist paintings and illustrations. I decided to take long steps back with my style and make something flat and flowy.
Location
The Flow is a bouldering climbing space, caffe and a meeting place in Wrocław. It has quickly became a iconic place in the city for all those who love climbing. Best coffee, delicious craft cookies and cakes made on site. Great atmosphere, music, people and exquisite climbing routes.
Making of
Even though the project was quite simple, painting it took me 7 days, mainly due to the very limited hours of work. In the afternoon the crowd began to gather for the workout. It was almost impossible to work and focus, surrounded by very loudly and energetic music for many hours and people walking around you. sometimes poking you accidentally with dumbbells. In the end, I was very pleased to meet many fantastic people who worked and trained there. They were very excited about receiving a cool painting for their everyday life.
